Carefully designed and handmade with specialist tools to create a bowl with curvy modern sides, a sturdy feel, and a warped profile - a result of turning the wood thin whilst wet and allowing it to dry and warp, giving it a natural rustic look.. This bowl is light in the hand and silky smooth to the touch. Finished with 100% tung oil to darken the wood and help improve durability. This bowl measures 18cm wide, 7.5cm tall, and 6.5cm deep.
 
English ash, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Ash is a stunning wood that can come in various different colours, the most commonly used being a nice pale yellow white. Ash typically has a straight grain, but this can vary wildly between different pieces, making it perfect for creating large vessels and bowls - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
