Handmade with specialist tools to create a carefully designed bowl with gradually curving modern sides, a thin profile, and a raised foot. This fruit bowl is light in the hand and silky smooth to the touch. With slight decorative cracking and a small bark inclusion. Finished with a white stained hard wax oil to keep the wood pale and prevent it yellowing over time. This helps highlight the beauty of the grain and to improve durability. This large bowl measures 24cm wide, 9cm tall, and 6.5cm deep.
 
English ash, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Ash is a stunning wood that can come in various different colours, the most commonly used being a nice pale yellow white. Ash typically has a straight grain, but this can vary wildly between different pieces, making it perfect for creating large vessels and bowls - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
