English ash, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Ash is a stunning wood that can come in various different colours, the most commonly used being a nice pale yellow white such as in this piece. Ash typically has a straight grain, but this can vary wildly between different pieces, making it perfect for creating large vessels and bowls - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
 
Hand turned to create gentle curving sides with a unique raised foot and live edge with bark inclusion. Finished with a wax blend to preserve the pale colour of ash and to create a high shine. This vessel measures 20cm wide, 15cm tall at its tallest point, and 14cm deep.
