Hand turned to create a shallow thin tray with a beaded edge and an eye catching distinction between the pale ash and the heartwood. This tray is heavy in the hand and silky smooth to the touch. Finished with a food safe hard wax oil to highlight the beauty of the grain and to improve durability. This tray measures 32cm wide and 2cm tall.
 
English ash, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Ash is a stunning wood that can come in various different colours, the most commonly used being a nice pale yellow white. Ash typically has a straight grain, but this can vary wildly between different pieces, making it perfect for creating large vessels and bowls - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
