English ash, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Ash is a stunning wood that can come in various different colours, the most commonly used being a nice pale yellow white. Ash typically has a straight grain, but this can vary wildly between different pieces, making it perfect for creating large vessels and bowls - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
 
Hand turned to create curvy modern sides with a silky smooth interior. Sealed and finished with a food safe wax, then buffed to high shine to highlight the patterns and the beauty of the grain. This large bowl measures 29cm wide, 9.5cm tall, and 9cm deep.
