English ash, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Ash is a stunning wood that can come in various different colours, the most commonly used being a nice pale yellow white. Ash typically has a straight grain, but this can vary wildly between different pieces, making it perfect for creating large vessels and bowls - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
 
Hand turned to create a large bowl with tall, curvy modern sides and a thin profile, this bowl is heavy in the hand and silky smooth to the touch. Featuring natural voids and unique wavy grain. Finished with a food safe hard wax oil to highlight the beauty of the grain and to improve durability. This large bowl measures 31cm wide, 9.5cm tall, and 8cm deep.
