An extra large wooden bowl handmade with specialist tools to create a huge shallow bowl with curvy modern sides and a thin even edge. This wooden bowl is light in the hand relative to its size and beautifully silky smooth to the touch. Finished with 100% pure tung oil to darken the deep natural brown oak whilst highlighting the beauty of the grain and improving durability. This large bowl measures 33cm wide, 6cm tall, and 5cm deep.
 
English oak, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Oak is a timber species revered in British culture due to its durability and strength, and its long list of traditional uses in British history. With a beautiful yellow brown heartwood and straight, uniform grain, oak can be used for almost anything - making it one of the most sought after pieces for my workshop.
