Handmade with specialist tools to create an extra large shallow bowl with gradually curving modern sides and a thin edge. This bowl is heavy in the hand and silky smooth to the touch. Finished with a food safe hard wax oil to darken and highlight the beauty of the grain and to improve durability. This large bowl measures 32cm wide, 7cm tall, and 5.5cm deep.
 
Named after its characteristic spiny branches making people remark about how it would be a puzzle for monkeys to climb. Monkey puzzle is a light brown wood, often with a yellow or red hue, particularly around knots. With a straight grain and uniform texture, monkey puzzle is a sought after wood - however it is difficult to come by.
