An extra large wooden bowl handmade with specialist tools to create an extra large shallow bowl with gradually curving modern sides and a thin even edge. This wooden bowl is heavy in the hand and beautifully silky smooth to the touch. Finished with a white hard wax oil to keep the sycamore naturally pale whilst highlighting the beauty of the grain and to improve durability. This large bowl measures 33cm wide, 7cm tall, and 5cm deep.
 
English sycamore, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Sycamore is a beautiful pale, smooth white wood with a strong closed grain, often used for kitchen utensils and furniture making due to its durability and stunning characteristics - making it one of my favourite timbers to work with.
