Hand turned from the outer part of the tree to create a traditionally shaped bowl with several small natural cracks and stitched repairs using waxed cotton thread. This bowl is light in the hand and lightly textured to the touch. Finished with a hard wax oil blend to preserve the pale colour of the ash, help highlight the beauty of the grain, and to improve durability. This bowl measures 20cm at its widest point, 9cm tall, and 7.5cm deep. Perfect for use as home decor. Made from ash sourced locally, and processed fully by myself.

English ash, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Ash is a stunning wood that can come in various different colours, the most commonly used being a nice pale yellow white. Ash typically has a straight grain, but this can vary wildly between different pieces, making it perfect for creating large vessels and bowls - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
