Handmade with specialist tools to create a large shallow fruit bowl with gradually curving modern sides, a thin profile, and a raised foot. This fruit bowl is heavy in the hand and silky smooth to the touch with a light sheen. Finished with a white stained hard wax oil to keep the wood pale and prevent it yellowing over time. This helps highlight the beauty of the grain and to improve durability. This large bowl measures 28cm wide, 8.5cm tall, and 6.5cm deep.
 
English beech, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Beech is a stunning light brown coloured wood with hints of orange. With a straight, closed grain, giving it a strong surface, beech is often used for kitchen utensils and cabinetry - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
