English oak, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Oak is a timber species revered in British culture due to its durability and strength, and its long list of traditional uses in British history. With a beautiful yellow brown heartwood and straight, uniform grain, oak can be used for almost anything - making it one of the most sought after pieces for my workshop.
 
Hand turned to create a shallow bowl with curvy modern sides and a thin profile, this bowl is light in the hand and silky smooth to the touch. Finished with a food safe hard wax oil to highlight the beauty of the grain and to improve durability. This large bowl measures 32cm wide, 3.5cm tall, and 3cm deep.
