English sycamore, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Sycamore is a beautiful pale, smooth white wood with a strong closed grain, often used for kitchen utensils and furniture making due to its durability and stunning characteristics - making it one of my favourite timbers to work with.
 
Hand turned to create a large wooden fruit bowl with modern curves, and sealed and finished with a lacquer to preserve the pale colour and to highlight the beauty of the grain. This large bowl measures 29cm wide, 5.5cm tall, and 4cm deep.
