Hand turned from a lovely pale wood to create a unique looking bowl, with a relatively light feel in the hand and lightly textured to the touch. Featuring a tight grain and simple pattern throughout the piece. This bowl has a very striking look, with a lightly warped shape and a live edge. Finished with a hard wax oil with a white dye mixed in to keep the natural pale colour, to highlight the beauty of the grain, and improve durability. This large vessel measures 21cm wide, 15cm at its tallest point, and 14cm deep. Perfect for use as a centrepiece or as home decor.
 
English ash, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Ash is a stunning wood that can come in various different colours, the most commonly used being a nice pale yellow white. Ash typically has a straight grain, but this can vary wildly between different pieces, making it perfect for creating large vessels and bowls - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
