Hand turned from English oak, this vessel features a warped shape and sculptural form, with waxed cotton thread stitched repairs. This vessel was wet-turned, where moisutre is still present in the fibres of the wood, and left to dry and warp. Considered as one of the finest woods to work with, oak is strong and durable, and boasts an attractive grain. Perfect as an eye-catching centerpiece or as decor around the home.

Finished with an ancient Japanese technique called Yakisugi, which involves using a 2000 degree flame to cause instant charring on the surface of the wood, before it is removed with an abrasive to reveal the grain hidden underneath.

Finished with tung oil to enhance the beauty of the wood. Please refer to the ‘Product Care’ section located at the top of the page or on the homepage if you have any concerns about tung oil and nut allergies.

This vessel measures 19cm at it's widest point, 13cm tall and 12cm deep.

Recommended for ornamental use only.
