A wooden bowl handmade with specialist tools made from very rare oak burr, where the tree has deformed and created a large bulge creating unique swirling patterns resembling tiger eyes. Turned to form a small bowl with gradually curving modern sides and a thin even edge. This wooden bowl is light in the hand and textured to the touch. Finished with a 100% natural tung oil to darken the wood and to highlight the beauty of the grain. This bowl measures 14cm wide, 5cm tall, and 3.5cm deep.

English oak, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Oak is a timber species revered in British culture due to its durability and strength, and its long list of traditional uses in British history. With a beautiful yellow brown heartwood and straight, uniform grain, oak can be used for almost anything - making it one of the most sought after pieces for my workshop.
