Hand turned to create a small bowl with gentle curvy shape a thin profile, making this vessel very light in the hand. Featuring a live edge from the tree bark, a small foot, and a lightly warped shape - a result of turning the wood thin whilst wet and allowing it to dry and warp, giving it a natural rustic look . Finished with a food safe hard wax oil to highlight the beauty of the grain and to improve durability. This small bowl measures 20cm wide, 8cm tall, and 7cm deep. Perfect for use as decor around the home.
 
English ash, locally sourced from well managed sustainable woodlands found in a small village in Devon. Ash is a stunning wood that can come in various different colours, the most commonly used being a nice pale yellow white. Ash typically has a straight grain, but this can vary wildly between different pieces, making it perfect for creating large vessels and bowls - giving it a permanent place in my workshop.
